Prescription Policy

Beginning January 1, 2021 we will be instituting a new policy for online prescription requests. We will no longer accept phone, email, or faxed requests from outside pharmacies. Here are some frequently asked questions:

Why are we making this change?

Phone, email, and faxed requests from various outside pharmacies takes time away from the service that we can offer to you and your pet. We have recently changed our online pharmacy to serve you better. This also allows us to keep much better records.

Will I still be able to get prescriptions online that can be delivered directly to me?

Yes, we offer an online pharmacy that allows you to shop online. Once you place an order, we can approve the script, if appropriate. Also, we can email prescriptions for recommended products.

How do I access your online pharmacy?

The web address is: petvetsonthego.vetsfirstchoice.com It can also be accessed through our website petvetsonthego.com under the Resource tab.

I don’t have computer access or shop online, can I still get home delivery?

Absolutely! We would be happy to place an order for you. If you need assistance, just let us know.

Does your online pharmacy offer deals?

Yes, much like other online pharmacies there are frequent sales and rebate offers. Typically, savings are greatest when you bundle preventatives or sign up for auto-shipments.

I still prefer to use an outside online pharmacy like Chewy or 1-800-petmeds. Will I still be able to get a prescription?

Yes, if you decide to order medications that require a prescription from an outside pharmacy, you will need to pick up a written prescription from us.

How do I get a written prescription from you?

Since we are mobile, it is best to plan ahead. If you know that you will be needing a prescription, request it during your yearly wellness visit. Or, we can arrange a pickup time when we are in your area.

Will I be charged for a written prescription?

No, we do not charge a fee for prescriptions.
